While in San Francisco, my friends and I decided to spend some time visiting the botanical gardens. It was November, so a bit cold where I live, and being able to walk around outside with no coat was great. I especially love trees, and seeing the large redwoods and others was awesome.
Flowers were even in bloom! It was so refreshing to stroll around in the sunshine and catch up with friends. I was shocked by how large the gardens were. Right in the middle of the city, this huge area of greenery made me forget about the all the businesses, traffic, streets and homes surrounding us. What a great oasis.
My friends wanted to find the succulent section… I didn’t know what to expect. I mean aloe vera, sure, I’ve seen that outside. But my succulents are all small and in pots. I had no idea they could get this big and look like this. How cool!
After our excursion through the gardens, we walked towards the California Academy of Sciences and grabbed a few snacks. There were benches to rest on and someone playing live music nearby. It was a great way to end the day!
